PS Vita for US 2012 & No Price Cut



In a press conference on Thursday in Japan, Sony Corp. Vice-President Kazuo Hirai said that Playstion Vita would will launch at retailers in Japan, at the end of this year, than in North American and Europe sometime in early 2012.

Hirai also stated there are no plans for a price cut, after the Nintendo recently announced a price cut of the 3DS from $249.99 to $169.99, beginning August 12. The Wi-Fi only model of the handheld will sell at retail price of $249.99, while a 3G Wi-Fi model will sell for $299.99.

The Vita is the successor to the PSP. It will have many new features, including a front touch screen, back touch pad and dual analog sticks. Sony also recently announced that it will be able to function as a controller for the PS3. Several games such as "Uncharted: Golden Abyss", "Little Big Planet, and "Street Fighter x Tekken" are in development for the new handheld console.

Borderlands 2 Announced


2K Games and Gearbox Software announced on Wednesday, that "Borderlands 2" is currently in development at their studios. It is a sequel to their role-playing shooter "Borderlands", which got high praises from critics and became became big hit, when released in 2009.

Borderlands 2 is the cover story on this month's GameInformer magazine. It will also be shown to public for the first time at Gamescom and PAX , later this month. The game is set to be released on the the Xbox 360, Playstion 3, and PC sometime between April 2012 and March 2013.
